I have a question.... I am buying a 89 or so ford tempo. It has rear wheel drive. Would that be an okay car to turn into a drift car? I was thinking about taking the v-6 out of my dad's taurus and putting it in the tempo. Or would a twin cam do it better? Which do you think has more horse power pumping out of it? Any suggestions? I am all ears and i will take anyone's suggestions and criticism. Thanks!

I've done autcross a bunch of times, the big track5 times, drag racing once, and Salt Flats twice. I have been thinking I should give drifting at least one try.

I was at the Saturday SCCA autocross and one of the drifters came by and invited me to join the fun. He said riding along was free, and I could get 4 laps for $20 for beginners. Now that's definitely worth trying! Unfortunately I had a commitment and couldn't stay, but I did get to see one car drift. I think every Nissan 240SX in ...

My name is Dave, I am relatively new to drifting, I am eager to learn and improve on what I already know. I am in the process of building my 88 REX7 TII. It has full Tein coilovers, front and rear, upper and lower strut bars, and a frame brace. I am in the process of rebuilding the engine. I will hopefully be able to run in some events this year.

We want to try something new this year at RMR.

We would like to try to have a different course for every event, so post up all course layouts you can think of and we will run as many of them as possible this year, we are limited on the track and had only one we used most of last season but we want to mix it more this year, keep in mind that we will be pitting in the oval in the same place or if there is a good one we can pit outside.

Here is the track.....

I have been thinking a lot about the way the competitions have been being ran. I have a few points that I think should be addressed.

1. I think a history of who is racing who should be taken into account. I have competed against the same driver all 3 times, and I haven't gotten the chance to try against anyone else. I personally think that racing different drivers will help us learn a little better in ways that following the same guy over and over will do.

2. A thought out competition bracket. ...

We cannot pit on the track anymore we just cant risk the saftey of anyone so please dont ask.

Course 1 will have a figure 8 And doughnut ring for the beginners and will be runing from 9-11.

You will be starting a little further back so you can get some speed for the first turn.

The red is where you will slow down and exit the track, also remember the pit speed is 5 MPH.

Course 2 wil be for some more high speed action and will be ...

having the track cross back eats up our run time. if we can line up on the track then things go a lot faster and we get more runs.

also where we loop the painted triangle is kind of harsh. the transition from the flat to the wall hurts at the angle we have to hit it at if we want to drift around it.
